Goals / Tasks

1. Support and maintain analytical infrastructure at public BST laboratories;
2. Continue development, updating and implementation of statewide BST standard operating procedures (SOPs);
3. Development and delivery of educational materials to promote the use and applicability of BST and the state-supported analytical labs;
4. Enhancement of the Texas E. coli BST Library and quantification of E. coli in known sources of fecal material;
5. Further development of suitable species-specific bacteria markers for library independent BST and comparisons between isolation methods;
6. Development and delivery of a workshop on the status of Texas BST technologies, capabilities and advancements
